Overview:
Sodium silicate, commonly known as sodium silicate, is an inorganic substance, and its aqueous solution is commonly referred to as water glass. Its chemical formula is Na2O·nSiO2, a soluble inorganic silicate with a wide range of uses. The modulus in sodium silicate is the molar ratio of SiO2 to Na2O; the modulus indicates the composition of sodium silicate and is an important parameter. The larger the sodium silicate modulus, the higher the silicon content, the higher the viscosity, the easier it is to decompose and harden, and the bonding strength is enhanced. Moreover, the degree of sodium silicate polymerization varies by modulus, resulting in significant differences in the silicic acid components in the hydrolysis products that have a significant impact on production and application. Therefore, sodium silicate with different modulus has different uses.
Performance and Applications:
1. In the printing and dyeing industry, it can be used as a stabilizer, dyeing soap detergent, and dyeing aid;
2. Raw materials for inorganic coatings, flooring curing materials, and concrete sealing and curing agents;
3. Casting industry: water glass sand adhesive;
4. Detergents, metal cleaning, and ore beneficiation flotation additives;
5. Refractory materials, grouting waterproofing, and aerogel synthesis raw materials.
Storage:
Store sealed in a ventilated, dry room away from direct sunlight, protected from rain and moisture, and transported and stored at temperatures above -5°C.
